Tony Nestico was diagnosed with Polymyositis in March, 2015. During the course of his treatment journey, he encountered countless setbacks and complications which exacerbated his already difficult diagnosis. While Tony gave the fight everything he had, it was too much to overcome and he passed away on November 22, 2018 at the age of 55. Tony’s diagnosis and ultimate passing were devastating to his family, friends, and community. This year marks the fifth anniversary of Tony’s death, and we have missed him deeply in all of life’s changes since we lost him; particularly the welcoming of his three beautiful grandsons, who would have been his absolute greatest joy.
On November 19th, 2023 we will complete the Fourth Annual Tony Nestico Memorial 5K, a fundraiser in support of The Myositis Association. TMA provides funding for the research and support of the Myositis community, a rare and largely unknown autoimmune disorder with multiple variations and limited treatment options. We hope that, with their hard work, we may see a cure to Myositis to help give those fighting this disease many more quality years with their loved ones. Thanks to the generosity of our amazing community, we have raised more than $20,000 for TMA with our previous campaigns. Again this year we humbly ask for your consideration in supporting this cause that is so dear to our hearts.
